How is technology integrated in teaching curriculum.

Integration of technology in education means the use of technology to enhance the student learning. Utilising different types of technology in learning includes a virtual classroom. Using technology has become a basic need in today’s life. Teaching is not an easy profession, but technology has made it easier and less complicated.

The technology based teaching will change the student’s learning process. They can learn things in an interesting way. Those interested will learn in a creative manner. Students at the same time should learn good communication skills. Since the system of going to school has changed to the use of computer, the introduction of new means – such as zoom classes has a great impact on children. They have learnt to mix the traditional way of textbooks with the modern way of gaining information through technology. Online study material and resources have made students independent.

Technology plays a vital role in transforming the method of teaching. It increases the listening and speaking skills of the students. Power point presentations, online assignments and home-works improve the growth of students and help them to become more organised. Communication is an important element where the teacher can assess the child’s strengths and areas of improvement. The teaching can include interactive games for math, phonetic and reading skills. The use of technology allows the student to work independently at their own pace. The teachers modify the information according to the capabilities of students. We should allow students to learn and refine their skills as well.

In a class where technology is used, the students are kept engaged and participate actively. It is interactive. Not all students learn and retain information in the same way. Technology has become its own form of literacy because of the daily use. Many of us use the Google drive, spreadsheets, creating slides to be shown or attaching documents to emails to communicate important information easily.

Allowing students to learn and refine these skills prepares them for life beyond the classroom.

Technology is changing the face of education in ways more than imaginable. There are brilliant online teaching platforms that have features that facilitate real time student – teacher interaction, live class recording, online whiteboard and so on. Education has changed drastically and in the right direction. We have to make use of the optimum resources that we have and use them sensibly.
